About the Artist
Eleanor Ai Wang (b.1994) is an artist based in London. Her creative process is akin to storytelling, unlocking visceral recollections through the stimulation of senses. Wang’s paintings are permeated with references to infra-ordinary aspects of life; depicting familiar cultural environments and people to help convey the emotional, psychological and physical contexts of the moments that inspired them.
Eleanor graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art, London in 2018, where she was the recipient of the Stanbury Scholarship and Melville Nettleship prize. In 2018 She won the Cass Art Painting prize and the Sarabande Foundation Emerging Artist Award.
