Sam Williams : Untitled (Mon Amour)
Sam Williams : Untitled (Mon Amour)
Untitled (Mon Amour) is one of an ongoing series of etchings which derives from an expansive collection of research transparencies connected to Williams' wider practice. The imagery on these transparencies range from drawings, texts, film stills, original photographs and found ephemera. They are arranged and scanned in a multitude of combinations and layers. Some of these scans are then translated into etchings as a way of fixing, or imprinting, the collaged compositions but allowing the original transparencies to live on as material to be constantly rearranged.
