Janne Meijer : Miniature Jars
Miniature jars which can be used to hold small precious items and treasures such as jewellery, used for spices or salt, or be decorative. They are part of a series of miniature jars, made out of a flecked stoneware mix and glaze brushed on using the wheel. The patterns echo each other and the process of using the wheel. Each jar is individual and unique in pattern, movement and shape but form a whole as a collective.

About the Artist
Janne Meijer is a multi-disciplinary Artist based in London, United Kingdom. Her practice is driven by process and making, spanning from alternative photographic processes to ceramics. She is interested in objects, materiality and the care that is imbued into making processes, craft and labour.
Meijer comes from a Fine Art background, studying at Central Saint Martins, and is a self-taught potter working in South East London, predominately work on the wheel, using stoneware and porcelain to create functional wares. She is inspired by angular contemporary forms and aims to create quiet, refined and beautiful pots, focusing on form and clay as a material.
