A participatory performance, sculpture and moving image work created in response to the physical limitations during Covid-19. The work aimed to circulate performance and sustain a sense of intimacy and contact. Audiences playfully explore our relationship to the dawn chorus through a recited poem, song, meditative mouth exercises with a bird soap at hand. The audience embodies their own birdsong creating an abstract rendition of the dawn chorus through the sound of human kisses; charting a circadian rhythm and highlighting the alternative economies of care in our shared homes and ecosystems.

This sculptural pek pek soap is a First Edition artefact of the performance distributed through mail.

About the Artist

Korallia explores the vital politics of care in an interdependent world, emphasizing nonhuman agencies. She works through various characters to “remythologize” autobiographical narratives; reimagining the intimacy of our interspecies relationships and home. Choreographic inquiries are framed through an interweaving of multiple mediums to construct an autofiction. The ways of participation in her work relate to the embodiment of care; by activating the body, the potential for a deeper understanding of care is opened.

Recent Performances include Bud (2023) presented as part of The New Contemporaries Live Programme (2024) at Camden Arts Center and new rendition of Low Roaming Cloud (2019) as part of A Tragical Romance, Wonnerth Dejaco as part of Curated By, VIE (2024) whereby she also exhibited her first etching series Yellow Liquid Time (2019) following their presentation in Closer To A Sustained Caress, The Municipal Museum Of Printmaking Hambis (2023-24,CY)
