Lauren Godfrey: Gloopy Series
Lauren Godfrey: Gloopy Series
This is a series of works Godfrey nicknames 'Gloopy Series' as the process encourages a loose sketchy gloopy quality. They are cast Jesmonite piped from icing bags and layered to create abstract patterned or cartoony images. They are fast and immediate so they have a vibrancy and mood of movement and slippage. The series continues the artist's interest in patterns and surface, smooth and decorative.

About the Artist
Lauren Godfrey is based in London, studied at the Slade and Chelsea College of Art and works across sculpture, drawing and printmaking. She has shown extensively both in the UK and abroad and my work is held in many collections worldwide. Conversation and connection is at the heart of the work, seeking to create dialogue and an atmosphere of joy and generosity. Recently Lauren’s work has exploded in scale, treating a 30 metre wall at Newham Hospital to an abundance of painted colour or spanning the breadth of Coal Drops Yard with patterned flags. Lauren also has a podcast, ‘PATTERN PORTRAITS’, chatting with inspiring pattern addicts from the creative industries and hearing their story through the patterned textiles they surround themselves with.
