Zishi Han: pouch (Guangzhou)
Zishi Han: pouch (Guangzhou)
The work is part of a series of experiments by the artist to explore day-to-day objects that hold and contain. The artist sewed the pouch with a loose patchwork design—the composition of various colours and textures was made from leather samples gathered in a wholesale leather market in Guangzhou.

About the Artist
Zishi Han (b.1990, Beijing) is a visual artist who currently lives and works in Frankfurt am Main. Han probes masochistic attachment to power structures through installation, sculpture, video and performance. Drawn to forms that hold and let through, he constructs possessed and perverted apparatuses to dismantle previous relations and incubate unexplored desires.
Han graduated from Städelschule in 2024, having previously trained as an engineer and designer. Han’s work has been featured in group exhibitions, screenings and performance programmes at Busan Biennale (2024); Kunstraum MEMPHIS (2024); Kunsthal Charlottenborg (2024); West Den Haag (2024); Nassauischer Kunstverein Wiesbaden (2021); Fondazione Antonio Ratti (2021) and Palmengarten Frankfurt (2020).
