Camilla Bliss: Guardian Candlestick

These candlesticks form part of Camilla’s ‘Guardian collection’, inspired by the different symbols and talismanic objects placed around the home for protection the guardian faces seen around the top of the candlestick explores how we imbue sentimentality and spirituality into everyday rituals.

About the Artist 

Camilla Bliss (b.1989, London) regularly draws on motifs found in historical craftsmanship, myth and folklore to communicate ideas about the modern world.
She studied sculpture at the Royal College of Art in 2021 and is the co-founder of the curatorial collective HAZE. As well as winning the Yorkshire Sculpture Park graduate award 21, she was shortlisted for the Mark Tanner Sculpture award and the Ingram prize 2022. In addition, Camilla was invited to join the Radical Residency at Unit 1 Gallery Workshop earlier this year.
