Hot Desque: Moonflower
Hot Desque: Moonflower
Moonflower is a piece by one half of artist-duo Hot Desque, Neena Percy, as part of their collaborative practice. The piece depicts a night-blooming flower, drawing on their ongoing interest in re-enchanting organic matter. Made from embossed copper and hand-drawn paper collage, the flower sits as a central character on a wobbly grid of an aquamarine and blue-screen-blue background, ready and waiting to be implanted into various narratives.

About the Artist
Founded in 2018, Hot Desque is a multi-disciplinary practice between artists Lizzy Drury and Neena Percy. Their collaborative work spans site-specific installations, drawing, film, writing, publications and workshops. They have staged exhibitions in venues such as a theatre and an archeaological museum. Drawing upon sci-fi world-building and deep ecology, they explore the potential to re-enchant matter and inanimate objects through dissolving the hierarchical classification of things.
