The Precariat Self-Help Handbook II
by Pixie Tan

14 x 20 x 0.5cm

This book is the second issue of The Precariat: Self-Help Handbook produced by Pixie Tan, a compilation of research and resources for precariats to rethink the existing hierarchies of creative labour and the value of work.

The handbook includes important and slightly more grown up lessons on who and where to go to help, how to navigate sticky situations such as money (don't we all love talking about money..), the Hostile Environment and includes strategies on self organising.

This issue includes writing and resources from Pin Han Tan (, Protest Press, Migrants in Culture, Catherine Tang, Laura Gordon, Alissa Metnik, Rebecca Toh, Pixie Tan and Nicole Jesse. It also features beautiful illustrations by Lee Wan Xiang and Lizzie Heath. Comes with a tear-away postcard to share your inner most fears with a friend.

Pixie Tan is a multidisciplinary art director and educator from Singapore. Between movement and placement, her body of work spans across moving images, graphic design, set design and fashion. The breadth of her work encourages her to take a collaborative approach towards a practice centred on the conditions of labour. Drawn to the human body and its gestures — the embodied possibilities of expression — in her work, she is interested in evoking an bodily presence that is greater than the sum of its parts.
