About the Artist
Polam Chan is a London-based sculptor known for their evocative works displayed across the UK and Europe. Holding an MA in Sculpture from the Royal College of Art and a BA from the University of Brighton, Chan’s practice has earned recognition through prestigious exhibitions, including the Gilbert Bayes Award Exhibition at the Royal Society of Sculptors. Other notable shows include Artwork Open at Barbican Group Trust, London, and But Dearer Still is Truth in Portugal. A recipient of the Gilbert Bayes Award and a finalist for the European Artists’ Prize, Chan’s practice explores themes of human archaeology, boundaries, and politics, questioning how we navigate and reflect on our current surroundings while initiating conversations among us. He draws imagery from his hometown and his surroundings in London, portraying his perspective.
