Wei Yang : I've known places 3
"I've Known Places" is a photography project by Wei Yang, capturing the neighborhood where he grew up following the passing of his grandfather. This body of work deal with the themes of belonging, grief, and loss, offering a deeply personal reflection on the emotional terrain shaped by memory and home. Through intimate visual storytelling, Yang contemplates the shifts in space and self that accompany the experience of mourning and the search for connection in familiar yet changed surroundings.

About the Artist
Wei Yang (b. 1994, Liuzhou) is an artist living between Liuzhou and Frankfurt am Main. Through painting, sculpture, and performance, Yang explore human experience as a geographic and diasporic entity.
Yang's work has been shown at Centro Cultural Las Cigarreras, Alicante (2024); Gold+Beton, Cologne (2023); Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2022); Tank Shanghai (2019); and Tabula Rasa Gallery, Beijing (2018). In collaboration with Zishi Han, their project Hairpin Beneath has been exhibited at Tropez, Berlin (2024); Memphis, Linz (2024); Pols, Valencia (2024); Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen (2024); West Den Haag, The Hague (2024); Delfina Foundation, London (2023); and Pickle Bar, Berlin (2023).
